How Music Influenced My Art
Music has always been a huge part of my life. I have not gone a single day without listening to music and that means whatever I listen to affects my mood, my emotions, and my work. When I was younger, I listened to a lot of music that matched what I was feeling, (I was pretty sad very often) and so a lot of the artwork that came out of listening to that kind of music was very sad and depressing. After getting over that sad stage in my life, I began to listen to music that made me feeling better more than music that continues to make me sad.

When I was in the fifth grade I used to be into “Vocaloid” which is a voice synthesizer software that is known for it’s music. A lot of the music associated with this group that I listened to was really dark and me being a child continued to listen to it and ended becoming sad all the time and was seeking for comfort through this music.
In 2014, I discovered a Korean Pop group names “BTS”. At first they were just your typical artists with great music. They worked hard for what they believed in and their music started to trickle into the U.S. and Canada. As of 2017, they released a Love Yourself Campaign that promoted self love and self acceptance that helped me grow into the person I am today. Instead of drawing because of my sadness, I now create art because of my happiness, and I owe a lot of that reason to BTS.
